These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Docklands provides professional carpet and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers in the Docklands area and surrounding locations. By placing a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
1.1 Company means Carpet Cleaners Docklands, the provider of the cleaning services.
1.2 Client means any individual, business, organisation, or entity that requests or receives services from the Company.
1.3 Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or ancillary services provided by the Company as agreed with the Client.
1.4 Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
1.5 Technician means an operative, cleaner, or subcontractor appointed by the Company to perform the Services.
1.6 Agreement means the contract between the Company and the Client for the supply of Services, comprising these Terms and Conditions and any confirmed booking details.
2.1 The Company provides carpet cleaning and related services such as upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, stain treatment, and other associated cleaning tasks as agreed at the time of booking.
2.2 The specific Services to be carried out will be described in the booking confirmation. Any additional services requested on the day of service may be provided at the Companys discretion and will be subject to additional charges.
2.3 The Company reserves the right to decline work that falls outside its normal service offering, is unsafe, or is not feasible with the equipment and methods available.
3.1 Bookings may be made by the Client through the Companys chosen booking channels. By submitting a booking request, the Client confirms that they have authority to enter into this Agreement and to grant access to the Premises.
3.2 All bookings are subject to confirmation by the Company. A booking will be deemed accepted only when the Company issues a booking confirmation, which may be provided verbally or in writing, and specifies the date, time window, and estimated cost of the Services.
3.3 The Client must provide accurate information regarding the Premises and the Services required, including but not limited to the number and size of rooms or items to be cleaned, the condition of the carpets, access arrangements, parking availability, and any known issues such as damage, heavy soiling, or infestations.
3.4 The Company reserves the right to amend the quoted price or refuse to carry out the Services if on arrival the information supplied by the Client is inaccurate or incomplete, or if the condition of the Premises differs materially from that described at the time of booking.
4.1 Prices are generally provided as estimates based on the information available at the time of booking. Final charges may be adjusted on site if the scope of work differs from that originally agreed.
4.2 All prices quoted are in pounds sterling and are inclusive or exclusive of VAT as indicated at the time of booking, depending on the Companys tax status.
4.3 Any promotional offers, discounts or packages are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or varied at any time at the Companys discretion. Promotions cannot usually be combined unless expressly stated.
4.4 The Company may amend its standard price list from time to time. However, once a booking has been confirmed, the agreed price will not be altered except in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
5.1 Payment is due in full upon completion of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in advance in writing between the Client and the Company.
5.2 The Company accepts payment by the methods it specifies from time to time, which may include card payment, bank transfer, or cash. The available payment methods will be communicated to the Client during the booking process or on completion of the Services.
5.3 For certain bookings, including but not limited to larger commercial jobs or bookings at peak times, the Company may require a deposit or full prepayment to secure the appointment. Any such requirement will be communicated at the time of booking.
5.4 If payment is not received on completion of the Services or by any alternative due date agreed in writing, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on late payments, to suspend further services, and to take reasonable steps to recover outstanding sums, including engaging a debt collection agency where necessary.
6.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company reasonable notice. The minimum notice period for cancellation or rescheduling without charge will be communicated during the booking process and may vary depending on the type of service and time of year.
6.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules a booking with less than the minimum required notice, the Company may charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full value of the scheduled Services, to cover lost time and costs.
6.3 The Client must ensure that the Companys Technicians have access to the Premises at the agreed date and time. Where the Technician is unable to gain access, or where the Client is not present and has not arranged suitable access, this may be treated as a late cancellation and the applicable charges may apply.
6.4 The Company will use reasonable endeavours to attend the Premises at the agreed date and time. However, the Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, traffic disruptions, accidents, staff illness, equipment failure, or emergencies.
6.5 In the event that the Company needs to cancel or reschedule, it will notify the Client as soon as reasonably practicable and will offer an alternative appointment. The Company will not be liable for any consequential loss or costs incurred by the Client as a result of such cancellation or rescheduling.
7.1 The Client is responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the Premises, including providing clear information on entry instructions, parking, and any relevant site rules.
7.2 The Client must ensure that the Premises are ready for the Services. This includes removing fragile items, personal belongings, and small furniture where possible, and securing valuables. The Company accepts no responsibility for items left in areas being cleaned.
7.3 The Client must inform the Company in advance of any known hazards at the Premises, including loose floor coverings, electrical issues, alarms, pets, or any other risk that might affect the safety of the Technicians or the effectiveness of the Services.
7.4 Children and pets should be kept away from areas where the Technicians are working and from damp carpets or furnishings until fully dry, for safety and to avoid re-soiling.
8.1 The Company will perform the Services with reasonable skill and care, in accordance with industry practice and the limits of the equipment and cleaning products used.
8.2 While the Company will use appropriate cleaning methods and solutions, it cannot guarantee the removal of all stains, odours, or marks. Some stains are permanent in nature and certain odours may be embedded beyond the reach of standard cleaning processes.
8.3 The Client acknowledges that results may vary depending on the age and condition of the carpet or fabric, prior treatments, type of stain, and the material itself. The Company will not be liable where improvement is limited due to such factors.
8.4 The Company may carry out a colour-fastness or compatibility test on a discreet area prior to cleaning. If the test indicates a risk of damage or colour run, the Company may decline to treat the item or may proceed only with the Clients informed consent, which may be recorded verbally or in writing.
8.5 Drying times are estimates only and depend on ventilation, temperature, humidity, material type, and the level of soiling. The Company is not responsible for extended drying times due to environmental or building conditions.
9.1 The Company will take reasonable care to avoid damage to the Clients property while delivering the Services. However, the Client should inform the Technician of any items that are particularly fragile, valuable, or in poor condition.
9.2 The Companys liability for any proven damage caused by its negligence will be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or, where repair is not possible, the current market value of the item, taking into account age, condition, and fair wear and tear.
9.3 The Company will not be liable for any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, shrinkage, loose seams, or other defects that become more visible after cleaning, nor for any damage resulting from such inherent issues.
9.4 Carpets and fabrics that have not been properly fitted, secured, or installed may be at greater risk of movement, shrinkage, or distortion during cleaning. The Company accepts no liability for issues arising from improper installation or manufacturing defects.
9.5 The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of rent, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services.
9.6 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law.
10.1 The Company will handle waste water and any solid waste generated during the provision of the Services in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations.
10.2 Where practicable, waste water from cleaning equipment will be discharged into appropriate drains at the Premises, such as designated sinks or toilets, as agreed with the Client. Waste water will not be discharged into surface drains or areas that may breach environmental rules.
10.3 Any solid waste, such as debris extracted from carpets, will be collected and disposed of responsibly. In most domestic cases, minor debris may be placed in the Clients refuse facilities with the Clients consent.
10.4 For commercial Clients or larger projects that generate significant waste, the Company may apply an additional charge to cover specialist disposal or compliance with any site-specific waste management requirements.
10.5 The Client agrees not to request or require the Company to dispose of any substances in a manner that would breach environmental, health and safety, or waste disposal laws and regulations in the United Kingdom.
11.1 The Company maintains appropriate public liability and, where applicable, employers liability insurance in relation to its cleaning operations.
11.2 Evidence of insurance may be provided to the Client on reasonable request. The existence of insurance does not extend or alter the scope of the Companys liability as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
12.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should notify the Company as soon as possible, and in any event within a reasonable time after completion, so that the Company has an opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
12.2 The Company may request photographs, access to the Premises, or further information in order to assess any complaint or claim.
12.3 Where a complaint is justified, the Company may, at its discretion, re-clean the affected area, offer a partial refund, or provide another form of remedy, taking into account the nature and extent of the issue.
13.1 The Company will collect and process personal data from Clients for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering Services, handling payments, and administering its business.
13.2 The Company will take reasonable steps to protect personal data and will use it only for legitimate business purposes and in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom.
14.1 The Company will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under this Agreement if such delay or failure results from events, circumstances, or causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, flooding, fire, industrial disputes, power failures, public transport disruptions, or acts of government or regulatory bodies.
15.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
15.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.
16.1 If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
16.2 The failure or delay by the Company to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
16.3 The Client may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of the Company. The Company may assign or subcontract its rights and obligations where necessary for the effective provision of the Services.
16.4 These Terms and Conditions, together with any confirmed booking details, constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Client in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.
By placing a booking with Carpet Cleaners Docklands or using our Services, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
