Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaners Docklands

Professional carpet cleaning team preparing equipment for a service bookingThese terms and conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Docklands provides carpet cleaning and related domestic or commercial cleaning services in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our team to commence work, you agree to be bound by the provisions below. Please read them carefully before instructing us. They are intended to create a clear, fair and practical framework for our service, while protecting both the customer and the company.

In these terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Carpet Cleaners Docklands. References to “you” and “your” mean the customer, client, occupier, or authorised representative requesting the service. These terms apply to all carpet cleaning appointments and any associated services unless otherwise agreed in writing. If any separate written agreement is made, that agreement will take precedence only where it expressly states that it overrides these terms.

Technician inspecting carpet condition before cleaning treatmentWe aim to provide a professional carpet cleaning service that is carried out with reasonable care and skill, in line with UK consumer and contract law. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable law. However, certain responsibilities rest with you as the customer, particularly in relation to access, information, preparation, and the suitability of the items to be cleaned.

1. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by us. A booking may be made by telephone, email, online enquiry form, messaging platform, or any other method we permit from time to time. A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted the request and, where required, any deposit or pre-authorisation has been received. We reserve the right to decline a booking where the requested service is unsuitable, outside our operational scope, or cannot be safely delivered.

When you make a booking for carpet cleaning in Docklands or any other service area, you must provide accurate information about the premises, the items to be cleaned, access arrangements, parking restrictions, known stains, damage, fibre type, previous treatments, and any relevant hazards. If inaccurate or incomplete information is provided, the price, timing, or suitability of the service may need to be revised, and any additional costs may be charged accordingly.

We may offer estimated arrival windows rather than fixed appointment times. While we will always aim to attend within the agreed period, schedules can be affected by traffic, weather, previous job complexity, equipment issues, or unforeseen circumstances. Time is not ordinarily of the essence unless expressly stated in writing. If access is not available when our team arrives, we may treat the appointment as a late cancellation or unsuccessful visit.

2. Service Scope and Customer Responsibilities

Carpet cleaning work in progress in a residential or commercial spaceOur standard service includes the cleaning treatment reasonably agreed at the time of booking, using appropriate methods and professional judgement. The exact cleaning results will vary depending on the condition of the carpet, fibre composition, age, wear, previous cleaning history, and the nature of stains or contamination. We do not guarantee complete removal of all marks, odours, or discolouration, especially where damage has become permanent or where staining has oxidised, set, or penetrated beneath the visible surface.

You are responsible for ensuring that the area is safe and accessible. This includes moving fragile or valuable items where necessary, providing electricity and water access if required, and advising us of any hidden issues such as loose flooring, weak seams, dampness, infestation, or damage underneath furniture. If you request that we move furniture, we will do so only where it is reasonable and safe. Heavy, fixed, high-value, or unstable items may be excluded at our discretion.

You should remove cash, jewellery, important documents, and other personal belongings from the work area before our team begins. We will take reasonable care while working, but we cannot accept responsibility for items left in the cleaning zone unless loss or damage arises from our proven negligence. Where special treatments are requested, you must tell us in advance about any manufacturer instructions, warranty conditions, or previous cleaning products that may affect the outcome.

3. Payments and Charges

Cleaning equipment and safety measures used during a booked servicePrices may be quoted as fixed fees, estimated fees, hourly rates, room-based rates, or item-based rates depending on the nature of the work. Any quotation is based on the information supplied at the time and may change if the actual conditions differ materially from those described. Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled carpets, stubborn stains, difficult access, parking costs, urgent appointments, minimum call-out fees, or extra services requested on site.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the service and before our team leaves the premises. We may require part payment, a deposit, or full prepayment to secure the appointment, especially for larger bookings, repeat cancellations, or specialist work. Accepted payment methods may include bank transfer, card payment, or other methods notified by us. We are not obliged to accept cash unless expressly agreed in advance.

If payment is not made when due, we reserve the right to suspend further work, withhold reports or receipts where permitted, and recover any reasonable costs associated with late payment. Any unpaid sum may attract interest and recovery charges to the extent allowed by law. You agree to pay all sums due without set-off or deduction unless you have a legal right to do so. If an invoice is disputed, you must notify us promptly and provide full details of the issue.

4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Access Visits

Cancellations or rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible. If you cancel with sufficient notice, we may at our discretion offer to rearrange the appointment without charge. However, short-notice cancellations may incur a fee to cover allocated time, staffing, and planning costs. Where a deposit has been paid, it may be retained in whole or in part as a genuine pre-estimate of loss or as otherwise permitted by law.

If you are not present, cannot provide access, or the area is not ready for work when our team arrives, we may charge a call-out fee or treat the booking as cancelled by you. The same applies where parking or entry restrictions prevent us from performing the service safely or within a reasonable timeframe and those restrictions were not disclosed beforehand. We may also reschedule if weather or site conditions make attendance unsafe.

We may cancel or postpone an appointment if there are safety concerns, staff illness, equipment failure, adverse conditions, or any reason beyond our reasonable control. In such circumstances, we will seek to rearrange the service at a mutually convenient time. Our liability for cancellation in these cases is limited to the return of any amount paid in advance for work not performed, unless otherwise required by law.

5. Liability and Limitations

Finished carpet cleaning setup with professional tools and suppliesWe will carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. If we cause damage as a direct result of proven negligence, we may, at our option, repair the damage, arrange suitable remediation, or offer compensation up to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, taking account of age, condition, and depreciation. You must notify us of any alleged damage as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within a reasonable time after completion of the service.

We shall not be liable for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, normal wear and tear, shrinkage, colour loss, dye transfer, watermarking, or changes in texture or appearance that can occur despite appropriate professional treatment. Certain carpets and fabrics may react unpredictably to cleaning, particularly where they are old, fragile, untreated, non-colourfast, or have previously been exposed to unsuitable cleaning products. By instructing us, you acknowledge that some risk is inherent in the cleaning process.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from any single booking shall not exceed the total amount paid or payable for that specific service, except where a higher limit is required by applicable legislation.

6. Waste Regulations and Disposal

Any waste generated during the service, including extracted liquid, residue, disposable wipes, packaging, or contaminated absorbent materials, will be handled in a responsible manner. We will comply with applicable waste regulations and environmental obligations in force in the UK. Where waste must be removed from the premises, it will be transported, stored, and disposed of in line with legal requirements and accepted professional practice.

You remain responsible for declaring the presence of hazardous, biohazard, or specialist waste before work begins. This includes, without limitation, sewage contamination, bodily fluids, sharps, mould growth, chemical contamination, pest activity, or other materials requiring specialist handling. We are not obliged to clean, remove, or transport hazardous waste unless expressly agreed and legally permitted. If such conditions are discovered during the job, we may stop work immediately and charge for time spent if appropriate.

Packaging, containers, and other materials provided by us may be removed by us unless otherwise stated. You must not place us under any obligation to dispose of prohibited materials in a manner contrary to law. Where the law requires waste transfer records, carrier compliance, or other documentation, we will maintain the appropriate records to the extent relevant to our service and operational procedures.

7. Complaints, Rework, and Notices

If you are dissatisfied with the service, you should notify us promptly and provide a clear description of the issue. We may ask for photographs, reasonable access to inspect the carpet, or other information needed to assess the complaint. Where appropriate, and if the complaint is valid, we may offer re-cleaning or another reasonable remedy. Any rework offered is not an admission of liability and will be limited to the affected area or issue.

Complaints relating to visible concerns should ordinarily be raised within a reasonable period after completion, and any concerns about damage should be reported without delay. Delayed notification may make it difficult to investigate the matter properly and may affect the availability of any remedy. Failure to allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect or resolve the issue may limit our obligations under these terms.

Any notice under these terms should be provided using the communication method originally used for the booking or any other method we have agreed in writing. Notices will be considered received when they are actually received by the intended party, subject to any contrary rule in applicable law. We may also send notices to the contact details provided at booking.

8. Force Majeure, Severability, and Governing Law

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where that delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Such events may include extreme weather, fire, flood, industrial action, transport disruption, power failure, epidemic, government restrictions, equipment breakdown, or any similar circumstance. In such cases, we will take reasonable steps to resume service as soon as practicable.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be treated as severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. A failure by us to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision unless confirmed in writing.

These terms and any dispute or claim arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms for Carpet Cleaners Docklands and related carpet cleaning services.
